Ever faced a big problem that, try as you might, you just couldn't solve?

Here are five (5) tips for overcoming problems and reaching better solutions faster:

1. Take a break

Take a break from the problem and apply your mind to something else. This recharges your mind and allows you to bring a fresh perspective to the problem. You may find that the answer just "pops" into your head... or becomes "obvious"... or that you discover the solution through a new set of eyes.

2. Ask others

Ask the opinion(s) of someone or some people you respect and trust. Others may bring experience and/or a new way of thinking about the issue that quickly leads you to the answer.

3. Research

Do some research. Who knows, the answer you're seeking may literally be only a few mouse clicks away - for example, on the Internet.

4. Break up the problem

Break the problem into bite-sized chunks that you are able to solve. As you move through each chunk... you may just get to the end, having solved the entire problem.

5. Work backwards

When you're looking for a specific result... but just can't work out how to get that result, try working backwards. Ask yourself: "what are all the steps necessary to bring about the result I want?" By working backwards through each step... you might end up knowing exactly what steps you need to take in order to move forwards.

“A Natural Remedy For a Common Ear Problem”

"Waxy ear" - a blocked ear caused by the build-up of wax - can reduce hearing, cause a ringing sound (tinnitus) and sometimes cause pain.

Ironically, this build-up of wax is often caused by people attempting to clear wax out of their ears by, for example, using a cotton bud. Unfortunately, using a cotton bud can push back, and compact, the wax in your ear.

In many cases, there's no need to use a cotton bud to clear out wax. Your ears are "self-cleaning" - the oils in your ear canal naturally collect foreign particles and transport them out of the ear in the form of wax. This wax falls out of your ears without you even noticing.

In any case, subject to obtaining medical advice, here's a natural remedy to try if you experience a waxy ear: insert a couple of drops of olive oil into your ear twice day.

Olive oil can help soften the wax, enabling it to come out. Of course, if the problem persists, see your doctor.
