“When Opportunity Knocks... Will You Answer?”

In this week's newsletter you will be given a very special opportunity.

Some say that when you get into the right vibration, you attract opportunities for success. Despite my reservations about the "law" of attraction, I agree. Here's another way of looking at it too: when you have a positive, open mind you become AWARE of all the opportunities that are, and have always been, CONSTANTLY knocking on your door.

But will you take any of those opportunities? For example, will you be one of those who takes Russ up on his offer of free coaching?

Some people won't - and don't embrace opportunities - for a number of reasons. Some people think that:

1. They don't deserve it. For whatever reason, they just don't think they are supposed to have good things happen to them, especially things that are free.

2. Nothing IS for free. Some people think that good opportunities are always "too good to be true" and that there's always a price to be paid. Perhaps. But they don't seem to realise that they might just get something more valuable in return for whatever investment - whether it's time, energy or money - is required.

3. They don't need to. They already have or know it all. Okay, so some people do have or know a lot. Maybe they won't benefit from speaking to Russ or taking advantage of a given opportunity. I mean, someone who has just eaten doesn't need any more food, even if it's free. I understand that. But this attitude can so easily slip into being closed to new understandings... which ultimately hampers a person's growth and success. Be careful when you find yourself saying "I don't need that" or "I already know that". (I
have to be careful of this too!)

So what about you?

Do you sometimes think you don't deserve good things... or that good things are never for free... or that you already have or know it all?

I urge you: thinking like this is limiting you.

Please... DON'T let lack of confidence... or cynicism... or over-confidence get in the way of your success.

When opportunity knocks, open the door.

You may have fears, doubts, uncertainty. Chances are they're exaggerated.

Open the door.

Don't worry about the opportunities you've missed.

Open the door.

Be sensible. Do your research. But please...

Open the door.

“How Eating Helps You Lose Weight”

The process of eating causes your basal metabolic rate (BMR) - the amount of energy required to keep you alive while resting - to rise. In fact, just digesting an average meal will cause your BMR to increase by around 50% for 4 hours.

So, if you want to lose weight don't stop eating! As you can see, apart from causing your body to go into starvation mode where it tries to hang on to as much stored energy (i.e. fat) as possible, NOT eating also causes you to miss out on at least four hours of extra energy burning.

That doesn't mean you should eat just anything. The calories from a big, rich meal may outweigh any energy burning benefit you get.

But it does add to the many reasons why EATING (i.e. healthy eating) is important if you want to lose and maintain a healthy weight.

And here's why protein should be a core component of what you eat if you want to lose weight and keep it off: digesting protein burns more energy than digesting fats or carbohydrates.

In fact, the percentage of calories you burn is around 25% for proteins, 2–3% for fats and 5–10% for most carbohydrates. In other words, if you ate 100 calories of each, after digestion you’d retain 97–98 calories of fats, 90-95 calories of carbohydrates, and 75 calories of protein.

That doesn't necessarily mean you should only, or even mostly, eat protein (carbs and fats are important for overall health) but it does indicate that more, and regular, protein may be part of the key to losing weight.
