“Thank Goodness For Bad Luck”

We experience "bad luck" when things don't turn out how we wanted them to, often due to unforeseen circumstances.

While it's certainly no fun to endure failures and disappointments... in some cases bad luck is the best thing that could happen to us. This is when what seems to be a bad situation, actually turns out for the best.

I'll never forget getting injured before a big running race, and not being able to train... only to find that the "forced rest" allowed me to run faster when the race came about.

I'll never forget missing out on a part-time job with Toys R Us... only to be offered a job at Grey Worldwide that led to a fantastic job in advertising.

And I'll never forget being forced to postpone an operation to have my daughter's hip dysplasia rectified (which would have required her to undergo a major anaesthetic, be cut open, and be in head-to-toe plaster for 12 weeks)... only to be told that she no longer needed surgery.

You can probably think of plenty of examples in your life when what appeared to be bad luck... led to a much better outcome.

I'm not saying that bad luck is always good or fun. My message is simply this:

If life isn't treating you all that well right now... take heart. Something good - maybe something better - may be just around the corner.

“How To Publish Your Own Successful Email Newsletter”

I was going to write a report on how to publish a successful email newsletter.

After all, I've been publishing Success Accelerator for about a year and a half now, and prior to that, I wrote 3 weekly newsletters for my previous Internet business. So I reckon I've learned a thing or two.

But Kevin Riley has beaten me to the punch!

Kevin, who's a good friend of mine, has just produced a report" Recipe For Delivering Your Own Popular Newsletter" which pretty much covers everything you need to know about publishing email newsletters, autoresponder series, and promotional emails.

So I'm not going to re-invent the wheel... get Kevin's report instead:

“Why You Should Teach Your Kids Boredom and Disappointment”

A good friend told me that one of her chief priorities in raising her kids was to teach them "boredom and disappointment".

She explained that she wanted her kids to occasionally feel boredom... so they would be inspired to create their own fun, to be creative and to develop their imagination.

She wanted her kids to occasionally experience minor disappointments... so they would develop resilience and be able to cope better when they experienced the almost inevitable bigger disappointments of life.

Many of today's kids are given everything they want - the latest clothes, the latest toys, the latest video games. But giving kids everything they want doesn't help them long-term. Not if we want them to be mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for the challenges of life.
