Which is why it IS a bit of secret.And yet, if you look at EVERY single person who has achieved success through their own means, they all have this one quality in common. And yet, the only way to get that better body, that more successful career, that profitable business, etc is if you put in the time and effort necessary to achieve that goal INSTEAD OF engaging in activities that, right now, may seem like more fun. In short, you need to delay your gratification in order to get closer to achieving your goals. Delaying gratification is also about making sacrifices, putting up with a degree of discomfort, and not seeing the fruits of your labor for a period of time. Working out at the gym involves some level of discomfort. Saving every penny while you build a business on a shoestring is tough. Getting up early every day for a year while you work on your novel with no guarantee of getting an agent, let alone a publisher, is hard. Recovering after a major setback can be challenging.
