“Have You Ever Done This Before?”
Ever been reluctant to do something because... you've never done it before?
Well, let's face it, if human beings never did things they hadn't done before... none of us would be talking, walking, or doing
practically anything.
As kids we were constantly doing things we'd never done before.
Our parents encouraged us to try new things because that's how
we'd learn, develop and make our way in the world.
Somehow, many of us reached adulthood and decided that we didn't
need to learn or develop anymore. In fact, we began using the
excuse that because we hadn't done something before, then we
couldn't and shouldn't attempt to do it now!
So what exactly has changed since we were young?
When were we told that it was time to STOP learning and
developing, and that we could only do things we'd already done? The truth is there's absolutely no good reason why we should
ever stop learning and developing our knowledge, skills and
experiences.
In fact, there's every reason to continue trying new things and
challenging ourselves.
For that very reason, I'm issuing a challenge:
Sometime in the next 7 days, do something you've never done
before.
I don't mean take out the garbage... I mean something that you
know, deep down, will enhance your knowledge, skills or
experience of life... and that you haven't done because of fears
or other negative beliefs associated with never having done it
before.
I will do the same and report back to you next week. The
challenge is on!

“MySpace, Facebook, Twitter... What The?”
Here's a quick guide to those online social networking sites
you've been hearing all about...
1. MySpace (http://www.myspace.com)
MySpace allows you to create individual webpages where you can
submit and share personal profiles, blogs, photos, music
and videos among friends. It's particularly popular with
teenagers.
2. Facebook (http://www.facebook.com)
Facebook is similar to MySpace but is oriented towards adults.
You can join one or more networks e.g. based on your previous
school, place of employment, or geographic area, in order to
connect and interact with others. You can also update your
profile and post messages for friends to see.
3. Twitter (http://www.twitter.com)
Twitter is a social networking and "micro-blogging" site where
you can send short messages (known as "tweets") to others who
elect to "follow" your messages. You can post tweets via the
Twitter website, SMS (i.e. via mobile phone), instant messaging,
or certain third-party applications.
There are many more social networking sites of course, but these
are three of the most popular.
If you're interested in "following" me on Twitter:
1. Join Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/home
2. Visit http://www.twitter.com/annajohnson and select "Follow"
Of course, I can't guarantee that my tweets will be regular,
entertaining, or remotely interesting!
