“Modeling Success vs Being Yourself”
Many self-improvement speakers and authors - myself included - recommend modeling others in order to become successful.
In other words, if you want to achieve the same success someone else has achieved... do what they've done to achieve it!
Indeed, a central tenet of Neuro Linquistic Programming (NLP) involves modeling the thoughts, patterns, behaviors, etc of those we wish to emulate.
And then there's the plethora of self-help books and reality shows that tell us how to act, look and dress for success.
But at some point, modeling someone else morphs into BECOMING someone else and you start losing your own unique identity. And you may also find that you DON'T actually achieve the same results of the person you've modeled anyway... simply because what works for them does NOT work for you.
For example, last year I heard a public speaker tell the audience that they should wear pink shirts to maximize their persuasive skills and be more successful in business. Seriously.
Apparently, he had studied this and found that wearing a pink shirt increased your odds of selling, and selling more, in a business setting.
I never saw any statistics to back up his claim, but let's assume it's true. Does that mean you should always wear a pink shirt whenever you want to persuade others to buy from you or do what you want them to do?
No. Think about it. In fact, think about the various successful people you know. Do they all wear pink shirts? I can tell you, when I think of the successful men I know, some of them would sooner fly to the moon than wear a pink shirt!
Because the reality is, a pink shirt will NOT work for you... if you feel uncomfortable wearing it. In fact, whatever persuasive power it has will likely be undermined by the discomfort you feel wearing that pink shirt.
Again, what may work for others... indeed what may work for the majority of the population... may NOT work for you.
The idea of modeling and learning from others is not to become a clone of someone else. What a boring world it would be if we were all clones!
The idea is to adopt some of those ideas and behaviors in order to ENHANCE who YOU are and to achieve YOUR unique goals.

“How To Get Your Way In a Meeting”
Got a meeting coming up where you need to persuade a number of people to agree with your way of thinking?
My number one tip is to meet each of the relevant 'stakeholders' one-on one, and get their buy-in BEFORE the meeting.
Chances are, with everyone individually supportive of your idea, they will easily agree with it during the meeting too.

Oh, and I reveal my honest opinion about MLMs and "businesses in a box" being vehicles for becoming financially independent (not).
If you're interested in buying a franchise or business, this may be just the primer you need to get started.
